Funded by a grant from Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield, the YMCA of Greater Erie will offer Y-SPLASH, a free basic swimming, water safety and character development series for non-swimmers and beginners.  Taught by YMCA aquatics certified instructors and aimed at children, teens and adults, the comprehensive program also provides opportunities to teach and demonstrate the four YMCA core values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility.

Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo in style at the Glenwood Y, Saturday, May 5 from 7-9 p.m.  It includes a ZUMBA Glow Party, Chinese Auction, and 50/50 Raffle.

$5 donation helps support the Y’s annual support campaign We Build People which provides financial assistance for kids and families to attend the Y.

The Adventure Area will be available for children 6wks-7 yrs; $2 for 1 child, .50 for each additional child.

Bring a neighbor, friend, co-worker.  This event is open to the community.

Who doesn’t love a giant yard sale?  YMCA Camp Sherwin is hosting a Yard Sale on May 26 from 9 a.m.-2 p.m. at Camp Sherwin.  If you have items to sell, you can bring them and sell them yourself for $10 (table provided by Camp Sherwin), or you can drop and donate clean and sorted items at the Downtown Y, 31 West 10th Street, attn: Tammy Crawford.

Don’t have any thing to sell?  We can’t believe there’s not something you must need – that you can only find at a Giant Yard Sale!  Load up the minivan and join us – concessions available!

The YMCA of Greater Erie is one of 24 organizations participating in the Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community. This annual fundraiser is underwritten by Highmark Blue Cross Blue Shield so that 100 percent of the funds raised go to the non-profit of your choice.

The 2012 Highmark Walk for a Healthy Community will be held Saturday, June 9 at Presque Isle State Park.
