YMCA of Greater Erie

DTY-BodyCombat_fullGet back to class at the YMCA of Greater Erie.  A number of new classes have been added to our fitness schedules across our branches.  From A to Z, our Y has classes ranging from Ab Blast to ZUMBA – here’s a sample of what’s in between:

B – Barre Class – a strength and flexibility class inspired by classic dance genres utilizing ballet bars.  All fitness levels. This class will be offered at the Eastside Family Y.

I – Insanity – prepare to see insane results with Max Interval Training.  This class will keep your body working at maximum capacity throughout the entire workout of athletic and plyometric drills mixed with intervals of strength, power, resistance and core training.  Advanced fitness levels.  This class will be offered at the Eastside Family and Glenwood Park Ys.

H –Hip-Hop Cycling – this non-traditional cycling class allows you to feel the beat of hip-hop music all while getting a high-intensity, upper & lower body workout.  Bring your attitude and a smile and get ready for a ride.  All fitness levels. This class is offered at the Eastside Family Y.

L – Les Mills Series – Created by popular fitness guru Les Mills, this series of classes includes BodyPump, BodyCombat and CXWorx. Classes  combine martial arts, resistance and weighted total body workout choreographed to today’s hottest music.  New releases and launch parties keep new choreography and music coming all year long. All fitness levels.  These classes are offered at the Downtown and UPMC Hamot Ys.

P – Pi-Yo Strength is a unique class designed to build strength and gain flexibility. The moves fit perfectly together to form a class filled with intense choreography that’s fun, challenging, and will make you sweat. It’s about energy, power, and rhythm. Think sculpted abdominals, increased overall strength, & greater stability. New releases for choreography add variety.  All fitness levels. These classes is offered at the Glenwood Park Y.

T –TRX Suspension was Born in the Navy SEALs and uses bodyweight exercise to develop strength, balance, flexibility and core stability simultaneously. All fitness levels.  This class is offered at the County Y.
