[Erie, PA, January 28, 2016] –YMCAs across Pennsylvania have joined together to offer reciprocal membership benefits through a state-wide membership reciprocity program called My Y is Every Y.
Launched on October 1, 2015 My Y is Every Y gives Y members in the state of Pennsylvania access to every participating Y in Pennsylvania.
“Today, we are excited to announce that the Ys in Erie, Meadville, Corry and Warren have joined the list of participating Ys,” said Tammy Roche, vice president of membership at the YMCA of Greater Erie.
Beginning February 1, 2016, Y members who wish to use another YMCA in Pennsylvania, must present a valid photo ID, their membership card if applicable, as well as complete necessary paperwork. There is no extra cost to Y members for this benefit.
Unlike the current “Always Welcome at the Y” program in which Y members may use any Y in the United States when they are traveling, Y members’ utilization is not limited to six visits – rather, members’ visits to Pennsylvania Ys are capped at 49 percent of their visits.
Y members still wishing to use a YMCA in another state may continue to do so under the AWAY program.
“Our members count on their local Ys for their health and wellness needs. Now they’ll be able to take advantage of what Ys across Pennsylvania have to offer. We’re very excited to be able to bring this added benefit to members,” said David John, Executive Director for the Pennsylvania Alliance of YMCAs. “We look forward to welcoming members from other Ys as we all stand together to strengthen our communities.”
