5:30am, the sun is yet to rise, it is Monday morning. Your alarm clock has been snoozed twice already and you have temptations to hit it again. It’s the beginning of what seems to be a never ending work week. The choice is yours; sleep in for that extra hour, or get up and start your Monday right, at the Y.
Hi, everyone! My name is Mollie and I am a Senior at Mercyhurst University and this year I am interning this semester at the Downtown Y. Every Monday and Wednesday I will be posting different blogs about health, fitness and mindfulness. I will be sharing different tips that help keep me motivated as well as encouraging quotes and ideas twice a week.
Don’t get me wrong, I love sleeping in as much as the next person but Mondays are not the time for being lazy! Starting your week off on a good note, makes for the best possible outcome. Let me elaborate, we can all agree waking up on a Monday morning stinks but it is an opportunity to start your week off right. Beginning your week right helps keep you motivated for the rest of the week. If you keep putting that workout off till the next day, you will wake up Friday morning and find that you have completely neglected your workouts.
Do not let this happen to you! Set goals for your week on Sunday. This will help you map out a realistic week’s worth of goals and motivation. Once you get up and out the door, you will be thanking yourself! You will be more awake and alert for the work day ahead.
