Re-live Those Memories From The Gym At The Downtown Y And Up On The Roof At Glenwood!!!

Celebration of the late 1950’s and 1960’s music and remembering the Y-Co days!

The Glenwood Park YMCA is hosting its SIXTH annual Remembering Y-Co, 1950s & ’60s Dance.  The event is scheduled for Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 7pm to 11pm at Rainbow Gardens (doors will open at 6:30pm).  The dance will bring back memories from your teenage years of the great dances organized by Andy Petersen.  Remember the membership cards, the strict dress code, not dancing too close, and Paul Anka’s “All Of The Sudden My Heart Sings.”

So tune up your “Twist” and your “Jitterbug”.  We are also going to judge anyone that dresses in 60’s era clothing, though it is not a requirement.

The music, that is another reason the dances were so special.  Popular music from the late 50’s into the very early 70’s will be performed by DJ John, who will “spin” records from this era.

In addition to wonderful musical memories, great contests, and of course dancing, you will be able to see old photos, your schools decorations, and re-connect with people you may not have seen in quite a while.

The dance is for the over 21 crowd.  It’s open to the public and you do not have to be a YMCA member – or have attended Y-Co previously.  BYOB and snacks.

Cost is $15 per ticket. Tickets ON SALE NOW at any YMCA of Greater Erie location.  You can stop by or call to purchase.   You may reserve tables in groups of 10 or 20 only.  Table reservations will be taken at the Glenwood Park Y only.  (Receive a free ticket with purchase of 10; receive 2 free tickets with the purchase of 20).

All proceeds from this event will benefit the Y’s annual campaign and be directed to support Safe Spaces, Meals for Kids, Learning and Health programs.  Click Here to find out more about the campaign.
