YMCA of Greater Erie

Pam & KidsAt the Y, we believe healthy living has as much to do with pursuing interests, passions and learning new things as it does with eating healthy and being active. Our minds and spirits need stimulus and enrichment, and we get so much more from life when we find things—and people—that inspire us.

Lifelong Learning

At the Y, we offer a sense of community, fellowship and support that enriches people’s lives. You’re as likely to find an art class as an aerobic class at your Y, and book clubs, painting classes, and card groups are becoming as popular as anything in the gym. Take a deeper look at something you’re interested in.

Spiritual Development

Our relationship with God, our understanding of our faith and others, and our sense of purpose in the world are all rich topics for exploration and prayer. Ys offer prayer groups, bible study, discussion groups, and spiritually-focused yoga and meditation to allow our spirits a chance to stretch and grow.

Group Interest Programs

Annual Campaign

Offered at: , , ,

You know the challenges that we face in Erie.  People of all ages and backgrounds are struggling to reach their full potential.  More and more children face seemingly insurmountable learning gaps.  Families find it difficult to spend quality time together. People are not connected to their neighbors and face time happens through a phone. And, instead of seeing the income gap shrink, it seems all we do is watch it grow.

But, when challenges arise, the Y – and donors like you – steps in.  Everything the Y does, is in service of making us – as individuals and our community better.

Our Y sits at the forefront of several key issues facing the Erie community including:

  • Safe Spaces: Drowning Prevention/Learn to Swim, After School Enrichment, Teen Center
  • Health: Wellness for Veterans, Senior Activities Outreach, adult & childhood obesity
  • Learning: High school graduation rates, Early Learning Readiness, Teen Center, Literacy
  • Meals for Kids: Food + Fun Bus, Healthy Eating Standards, Summer Foods

From Safe Spaces to academic achievement, when you donate to the Y, you’re giving those in need opportunity to thrive.

The YMCA of Greater Erie is a 501 c 3 charity and is one of the largest philanthropic organizations in Erie County dedicated to helping children and families live healthier, more productive lives in spirit, mind and body. More >>
