YMCA Partners with USDA to Connect Families to Fresh Produce

Erie, PA – The YMCA of Greater Erie has partnered with the USDA to connect families to free fresh produce.

The produce boxes will be distributed to families during the Y’s regularly scheduled meal distribution for children. Please note that the produce boxes are only available during the schedule below, but meals follow an expanded service

Downtown Y, 31 West 10^th Street, Fridays, 3:30-5:30 p.m. – produce

         Meal distribution, Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, 3:30-5:30 p.m.

It is estimated that the Y should receive anywhere from 60-80, 30-pound boxes of fresh fruits and vegetables weekly; one 30-pound box would serve a family of 4 for one week.

Income requirement and Y membership are not required.

Service will begin on Friday, May 22.
