Youth Classes/Training

At the Y, we offer a number of programs and classes for youth of all ages to introduce them to healthy habits and routines, exercise safety, and fitness and conditioning.

Youth Wellness Center Orientation is offered to ages 8-14 at all of our locations. We’ve developed this youth orientation to the Y’s Wellness Centers, concentrating on the components for a safe cardio and strength workout. Schedule by appointment w/ the Front Desk

Eastside YMCA Orientation:  Obstacle/Interval Training –  This orientation will teach you to train safely and familiarize yourself with our equipment in the Obstacle Interval Fitness Center (lower Level). 45 min session. Schedule by appointment w/ the Front Desk

Youth and Family Bootcamp – Improve your strength and stamina for any activity. This fun workout includes sports drills, light weights, jump rope, boxing, circuits, fun games, and interval training. Eastside Y. Ages 7+

Youth and Family Cycle class: Roll over hills, chase the pack, spin the flats, and climb mountains! Kids (and parents) will have fun in this fun, gentle interval cycle class. Glenwood Y. Ages 8+

Kids Yoga & Pilates – Mindful breathing and movement activities to help improve body awareness and promote emotional regulation and overall well-being.  All abilities are welcome.  Glenwood Y.  Ages 5-12.

Kids On The Move – Through our new Y360 InStudio platform, the Glenwood Y will provide a variety of virtual activities geared toward youth members and families to encourage physical movement and family interaction. Glenwood Y.  Ages 8-14. (Offered in the summer)

Kids On The Move – Kids will have a great time being active in this fitness class geared just towards them. It’s the fun of recess, playing gym and playground sports and games, without the not-as-much fun of classes and homework!  Eastside Y.  Ages 7-12 (Offered in the summer)
