Basic Life Support (CPR) & Emergency Oxygen Administration
This training program through the American Safety and Health Institute for Basic Life Support (BLS) is intended to assist healthcare provider, including professional rescuers, in learning or refining BLS skills for patients of all ages. These critical, potentially life-saving skills include performing high-quality cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillation (AED) as a single provider and part of a team. BLS also includes knowing how to relieve foreign body airway obstruction.
If needed, this course also focuses on administering emergency oxygen to individuals, emergency oxygen delivery systems, and integrating pulse oximetry. A written and practical evaluation must be completed to earn certification.
BLS certification is valid for 1 year.
Emergency Oxygen Administration is valid for 2 years.
