YMCA of Greater Erie

Looking for adult sports?

Coach girl soccerWhen kids play sports, they get more than just exercise.  Besides being physically healthier, they have higher self esteem and a healthier body image.  The benefits of playing sports go far beyond the physical.  Kids who play sports perform better in school, develop better interpersonal skills and work better in groups.

YMCA Youth Sports places a priority on family involvement and healthy competition rather than rivalry.  They teach the value of participation over winning, team-building as well as individual development, a positive self-image and a sense of fair play and mutual respect for others.

Love Sports? Become a Youth Sports Volunteer Coach!  We are always in need of great coaches willing to make a difference in the lives of today’s youth.  Your time is our most valuable asset.  Volunteer coaches lead players through drills and games that build skills, develop coordination and enhance a love of the game.

Soccer Programs

Adult Soccer – CoEd (Futsal Indoor) & Women’s

Offered at:

Whether you’ve never played and want to try it, played all your life and want to continue or haven’t played in quite some time… we’ve got a division for you!  The YMCA, in conjunction with Gannon University, is able to offer a variety of soccer leagues – there’s a division for everyone!

Being an adult league, all participants must be at least 18 years of age to play.  All YMCA programs are recreationally-based, but we do encourage competitiveness as long as it’s within the limits of sportsmanship and respects the game itself.

The league is played on Sundays.  Indoors is played at the Eastside YMCA in the full gymnasium and outdoor is played at McConnell Family Stadium on the campus of Gannon University (turf field).

If you’ve never played before, come see why Soccer is nationally called “The Most Beautiful Game on Earth”.  With any questions or comments, feel free to contact the Sports Coordinator, Corey Wolff, by e-mail or calling 814-580-6703.
