Will take place on Saturday, Sept. 18 at 9 a.m.; please arrive early to register. The PPK program is a national skills competition for boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 15 to compete separately against their peers. Established in 1961, the PPK program is the oldest NFL Youth Football program. Girls and boys in five separate age divisions (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13, and 14-15) compete against each other in punting, passing and place kicking in a fun and engaging forum. The PPK is a free program. Proof of age required at event and only soft-soled sneakers are allowed. Volunteers always welcome!

Our thanks to the United States Navy SeaBees for their volunteerism in constructing two new beautiful cabins at YMCA Camp Sherwin. An introductory rate of $80/night is extended the remainder of the 2010 camping season. RV Read about them here. RV & tent sites available and hall pavilion rentals available too.

The Eastside Y will offer an Intro to Swim Team class Aug. 17, 19 , 24 & 26 at the Tri-Community Pools & Waterpark on the Eastside Y’s campus. Program begins at 10 a.m. and is open to children 5-18 years old. This class will give children the knowledge needed to prepare them for swim team. Includes flip turns, starts, stroke development & endurance swimming. Cost is $15 for Y Members and $75 for non-members. Register at the Eastside Y, 2101 Nagle Road, or call (814) 899-9622.
